So, why Gettysburg?

The 93rd Infantry Monument at Gettysburg

Gettysburg has special meaning for Christopher who was a history major in college.  He had a Civil War History professor "Colonel" Gordon Shay who used to take students on trips to Gettysburg every year.  The trips were so good and Colonel so beloved that students like Christopher continued to go on the trips every year even after they finished school.  The group was affectionately dubbed "The 93rd" in honor of the Pennsylvania 93rd Infantry, a military unit that a few of Colonel's ancestors were in when they fought at the Battle of Gettysburg.  Over the years, the members of the 93rd became a family with the Colonel as their father figure.  Sadly, Colonel passed a way a few years ago.  So, having the wedding in Gettysburg will be a way for the Colonel to be there in spirit.

There will be about 2-3 hours between the ceremony and reception.  For suggestions on area attractions to visit during that time, please visit the Things to Do section.
